The Local Team That Cares for Clearwater Homes Like Their Own
Family-owned electrical contractor serving Tampa Bay. We compete against private-equity rollups by being something they can’t: a genuine neighborhood team.
The reason we started this company
Thomas Edison Electric is privately held, locally operated, and built around a straightforward premise: your electrician should live in the same community they serve. We’re not a franchise. We’re not owned by out-of-state investors. And we don’t dispatch techs from a national call center running scripted upsells.
Operating from our Largo branch, we work with residential and light-commercial clients throughout Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Pasco counties. Our technicians know the Tampa Bay electrical landscape—where aluminum branch circuits still run in pre-1980s Clearwater Beach condos, which barrier-island neighborhoods face salt-air corrosion on service masts, and how Duke Energy’s meter-base requirements differ from what TECO enforces in Tampa proper.

Non-negotiable standards
- Licensed work only. Every job is performed under Florida electrical contractor license EC13015487. No “handyman” workarounds.
- NEC 2023 compliance. Every installation meets the current National Electrical Code and Florida Building Code. If it won’t pass inspection, we won’t install it.
- W-2 employees, not subs. Our techs are full-time team members. They’re insured under our policy, trained on our standards, and accountable to us, not to a job-board agency.
- Quotes in writing, before we start. No verbal estimates that magically grow on the invoice. The number you approve is the number you pay.
- Real photos, real reviews, real names. Everyone you see on this site is a real person who actually works here. No stock photos. No paid review services.

Our Clearwater electrician team
We keep our crew intentionally lean. Every electrician who arrives at your door is a W-2 employee working under FL license EC13015487, not a rotating subcontractor sourced from a dispatch app. We prioritize longevity and craftsmanship over high-volume turnover—so the same tech who upgraded your Treasure Island condo panel will be the one troubleshooting your AFCI breaker nuisance trips next summer.
Each technician maintains a public profile showing their credentials, experience level, areas of expertise, and recent work across Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Largo, and surrounding Tampa Bay communities. You won’t get an anonymous “next available tech” assigned at the last minute.
